FACILITATOR

Hello everyone,

It´s Ana Mª Sánchez, the facilitator for the task "Synthesising knowledge", our last task for the "Educational Resources" part of the course #SOyER1314... but the course is continuing and this blog too...

First of all, I will show you the T8T Rota, made by our first facilitator. As it can be seen, the roles for “week 5” are specified there, well, we could say for “task 5” (because actually I think we have had 7 weeks; but one of them was spent in reviewing our previous work and the other one was centered in Londones visit and it was included into the big task “the dark side of textbooks”, but highlighting its special place there).

This task has made us rethink the topics that had been proposed during the first part of the semester... And I say "rethink" because we tried to synthesise and think in an animated way... helped by the tool "moovly". We only had 1'30'' for doing so, and we knew since the very beginning that was not going to be an easy job… or maybe things were not so clear at first.

Actually, the first time this task was explained to the class, our team didn´t know if keeping the roles or not, the same happened to others groups. In our team, some members offered themselves to summarize our experiences, but the result was not what was expected from us… When our teacher explained it for the second time to the whole class and she made clear what she didn´t want, we organised the task in a different way. It was then when we saw things clear: this was a huge task. Why? Because synthesising is itself complicated: not repeat, not make just a summary, but recreate in a connected way what we had been meant to learn: the concepts, abilities, attitudes… and that LOE-concept, “competences”, that integrates everything and is led by “ethical purposes” as Escudero Muñoz, J. (2008) explains.

We decided that we were going to split ourselves into four couples, and every couple would be in charge of one of the main topics: “TPACK model”, “Map projections” (with its treasure hunt and its reality distortions), “Creative commons & presentations” and “The dark side of text books”. As a facilitator, I decided that I preferred moovly rather than powtoon, just because I had a look to both tools and moovly seemed to match better with what I thought the aim of the task was, and none of the team members manifested to prefer the other tool.

After exploring the tool and experimenting all the panic it created (“What a huge task!”, “I have no idea how to use it!”… Yes, T8T Whatsapp group was burning…), the result was pretty good: almost all the couples had finished their own work by the deadline (friday before presentation), and the rest had to make just a few modifications in order to make it more attractive, short or simple by removing some words… I think that making ourselves work on the tasks separately was good, because we could later add quality to the final result by having trained ourselves in managing moovly with a concrete theme to recreate.

My experience as a facilitator hasn´t been bad, but has been difficult. It is not easy to arrange things and to say to your mates what should or shouldn´t be done… Maybe the part I´m more proud of is the blog organization… I didn´t think I was going to be able to reconfigure the blog, not everything was perfect (the group didn´t like the colours and pictures that I chose in the first place) but we all did enjoy the new arrangement (even if we know we can improve it even more. So let´s improve whatever is needed!

Hello, I'm Alba the translator of this week.

This weeks task consisted on summarizing this course work in a video. For this activity. In this post I'm going to focus on different concepts which are moovly, the objective model, content, the competency model and finally, the relationship between TPACK and the competency model.

Moovly: is an online programme which gives you the opportunity to create animated videos, tutorials, presentations...

The objectives model: in the objectives model, education is interested in changing the students efficiency. One of the characteristics of this model is that there are pre-specified behaviors as well as that all students should behave the same way. In other words, education becomes a matter of applying means to a target. The scheme of this model is divided in four different stages which are: content, objectives, methodology and finally, evaluation.

Content: the content of an educational programme is organized and structured in the planning of teaching which is the set of activities done by the teacher before teaching the class. By this procedure topics and subtopics are grouped in a consistent and significant way.

Competency model: this approach consists on its design, develpoment and the curriculum evaluation being orientated in order to solve a problem or a situation (knowing, knowing how, knowing how to be). The most important part of competences is to apply the learning in order to solve problems with ethical purposes.

Relationship between TPACK and competency model: TPACK as well as the competency model, combine different aspects in order to learn and internalize the content as complete as possible.

To conclude, it is noteworthy to mention that content is content, but to learn it without giving it any utilization is useless.

JOURNALIST

HELLO READERS!!

We are already here again, sharing with all of you our experiences and emotions. 

I'm Raquel Ramón and this week I'm a JOURNALIST! It's incredible and amazing, isn't it? :P

This week, we have been doing a new and creative project with different tools, which are very interesting to do original works in order to be a good teacher in the future and enrich our knowledge. 

FIRST, I'm going to describe what we all the group have been doing during this week.The project consist on making a video where appear everything that we have learnt during this part of the subject school organization and educational resources, summarizing all the adquired content in just 1 minute and 30 seconds. 

Well, when Linda ordered us this project,we thought that it could be a chance to get familiar with all the contents, maybe if you had some doubts about one of the projects, you could sort out now.

In class during all the week, we have been seeing what were the programs that Linda recommended us to do the video. So, all the members were looking into how to use both programs (moovly and powtoon) and then we had to decide what is the best and work in it as soon as possible. 

18 Tuesday!! 

When we was explained the new activity, we started to think about it. Before this day, at the weekend, Sandra tried to do a video with some photos taken by us during the course. But, the problem was that this video was incorrect, because the video had to be made in one of the two programs that Linda said to us. So, Tuesday, we started to look into the programs on your own.

20 Thrusday! 

In class, we all was watching what were the ideas that we had to do the video. And at the end of the class, we decided that we was going to do the video with moovly. So, the facilitator share the contents of the subjects in pairs. In this way, we and my partner ana chose the dark side of textbooks, because we thought that it was interesting.So, we worked in the program thrusday evening. 

                                                                               

21 Friday!

We all met on the library to join all the videos, to put the same style and the same things and change the incorrect thing and so on, because we didn't have time in the weekend, so we met Friday morning to finish the work. Surprinsingly, after looking up some songs through Creative Commons Search, we finally found the perfect song and the video was a success. Of course, the video could have been better and more creative, but we did it as we felt it and as we knew it. I think that if we were more time to do the activities, maybe we would do it better, I think. But, anyway, I'm very proud of all of us. 

To continue my post, I want to tell you some things and impressions about my classmates's blogs.

I have seen all the blogs and in general they have beautiful titles and creative styles and so on. But, what I have to stand out are they blog which have all the blog in a original way respect to the rest of the blogs. This blog is GIVE ME 7. All my group think that this blog is like an example or a role model for us, because they have the things very strutured. So, I think that the best on could be Give me 7. Also, I like so much hide & seek and brainstorming because they work very hard in their post as well as being organized as I like. 

I have also reading some posts of my classmates and I think that in general all of them are good. But, also all of them can improve so much. I think that  we are learning many things and get familiar with them ( the blogs, the roles etc) and gradually we are improving and working hard to get a good grade.

All the groups have presented their videos summarizing what content they have adquired and their emotions and experiences during these months in the subject and I'm to comment some aspects about them.

EDUCATION RUSH HOUR:

the video has been made with a lot of work behind, because to be honest, all my group agreed the video was very interesting with the story.

HIDE & SEEK:

We evaluated his video in the 1º place in Eurovision, because they show us in a funny and interesting way all the content that we have adquired and also all the impressions about the subject with a story.So, they deserved the prize and the first position. Thank you hide & seek for being ORIGINAL =)=)

THE LITTLE ANTS.

In spite of the video was of those that receive the worst punctuations, I know that they worked very hard in it and also that they know to do lots of things originally as the other activities. Maybe, they didn't put all the effort as they can in the video. But, I Know that they can improve so much. In fact, they have done original activities and creative and effective presentations. So, don't worry Little Ants. =)=) you can!!

BRAINSTORMING

Well, Brainstorming also did a good work because they reflected very clear the things that they have learnt. Iliked so much how they show us the different visions of explaining the reality. They took some photos and edited them with a program in order to show us who reality can be distorted. I think that they have very good ideas and also that they can improve even more. So, thanks for your video. =)

STEP BY STEP

Very clear videos and I like so much the way that the show us all the contents that they have learnt during the last 2 months. 

GIVE ME 7:

I enjoy the video, but personally, I didn't like so much the voice in this kind of videos because I think that the video and the photos and animated things have to express and say all the things and maybe it's not necessary the voice at all. 

But, anyway. They did a good work !!=)=)

C'MON TUTANKAMON:

They did a really really good work. That was the reason why they win the first position. CONGRATULATIONS.!!

TEACHLEADERS:

they did a good video in a enjoyable way and we evaluate his video as one of the best of the class. So, you are good workers =)

Well, on the next week Monday, all the groups presented us their wonderful videos and finally we did BNILINGUAL EUROVISION SHOW, in which stars had to transmit the impression of all the group about the other videos and evaluate them with points. ( 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 12 points). Here I leave you the final punctuations. Our stars LAURA AND SANDRA did a good work =)

The first place was for Hide and Seek and C'mon Tutankamon. CONGRATULATIONS. Surprinsingly, the second one was T8T, our group. We was very proud and exciting when we counted the point that ourclassmates gave us. THANKS!! :P :P

CURATOR FARMER

Hello everyone!

We are Paz and Isa, the curators of the last week.
This week, we haven't used so many references because, our duty was to make a video with all the things that we have learnt in this first part of the #SOyER1314 course.

We have enjoy a lot making the video, and remembering the good moments we have spent in this subject and we have had a very nice surprise when we have saw all the things we have learnt.

This is the first time that we use this program me (PearlTree) but it is very easy and useful. We totally recommended it because you can recollect all the information you have used, and also another people can use it.

FINAL VIDEO #SOyER1314 + STARS POST

Hello everybody! 

We are Laura and Sandra and this week we have been the stars :) It has been a funny week in which we have worked in our final video of the first part of the subject. It has been a very difficult task because we had to express everything that we had learn in only ninethy seconds, but we have enjoyed a lot making the video. This task have made us remembered a lot of good moments that we have lived this semester. 

On Monday we watched the videos of the rest of the groups and all of them were very original, each group expressed their experiences in a different way, for example hide and seek told us a story of world called SOyER, with an allien called Linda. Later we evaluated the presentations as if it were an eurovision show. The hide and seek´s group and the C´mon Tutankamon´s group got the first place and our group got the second one. We want to congratulate the winner groups, their videos were wonderful! :D

Our experience as stars have been very nice and easy, due to we didn't have to be as nervous as the rest of our partners, because their tasks as stars were more difficult, and they had to present the activities in front of the rest of the class by their own.

Hello again, I’m Ana Ruiz and this week my role is Analyst.

About the role, I can say that it is more difficult that it seems.

The best part of the activity I think was to do our video, specially, when we finished  the video, because all of us were worried about using Moovly. At first nobody knew how to use this new tool, and the first day when we have to explore it, we were thinking that we didn’t have time enough to finish it on time. For that reason, doing the video was the best part of the activity.

About the best moment it  was Monday  in class, when we have to show our videos. Firstly, because we were excited and unexpected to know if we have done a proper video.  And when we did a performance such as ‘’Eurovision’’ and it was very funny.

And As I said before, we were so worried about using  the new tool , but  I think that we were more worried before, when we didn’t know exactly what we have to include in our video so, I think that the worse of the activity was at first when we didn’t know what our video would be and what should we include in it.

The worse moment was when we had to prepare the elements that we think we should include in the video. Because there are a lot information, we have learnt a lot and we had show all that we have learnt in the video.

Every day we learnt something, and during this week we have learnt, first of all, to use the new tool, Moovly. Also we have learnt, using through this  useful tool, to do a synthetis of all knowledge that we have learnt during this period.

I think the motivation, I don’t know why… but this week all of us were so motivate and we want to make a good good work, more than other weeks. Also collaboration, this week  we have worked such a real team.

We should improve our work in group, I mean, we work well , by ourselves but when we work together is  more difficult because  we don’t express ourselves and I think we should say what we think in order to reach an agreement.But, in spite of all, I can say that we have improved. Now we know each other and we can organize and do things easily than before.

I think that, firstly, to know how synthesize a lot of information is what we should do in all our others subjects because it means that you know what you are studying.

Then, I think that the content that we have compiled is clear example of what Tpack is. We have integrated: Technology, Pedagogy and Content Knowledge , such as we have done in this subject since we started with the first task.
