FINAL VIDEO #SOyER1314 + STARS POST

Hello everybody!

We are Laura and Sandra and this week we have been the stars :) It has been a funny week in which we have worked in our final video of the first part of the subject. It has been a very difficult task because we had to express everything that we had learn in only ninethy seconds, but we have enjoyed a lot making the video. This task have made us remembered a lot of good moments that we have lived this semester.

On Monday we watched the videos of the rest of the groups and all of them were very original, each group expressed their experiences in a different way, for example hide and seek told us a story of world called SOyER, with an allien called Linda. Later we evaluated the presentations as if it were an eurovision show. The hide and seek´s group and the C´mon Tutankamon´s group got the first place and our group got the second one. We want to congratulate the winner groups, their videos were wonderful! :D

Our experience as stars have been very nice and easy, due to we didn't have to be as nervous as the rest of our partners, because their tasks as stars were more difficult, and they had to present the activities in front of the rest of the class by their own.

The stars, Sandra and Laura.

MEDIA DISTORTION EFFECT

Good afternoon!!

We have found these incredible and shocking picture and video about a man walking throught the water and about the difference between the way women normally dress in Arabic countries and the rest of the countries.

According to the first example, that is a way of showing distorts of the real world, because that is an impossible action, unless it is done with magic or tricks.

To mitigate the effects of this resource in our classes with small children, we have decided to explain it as a magic effect, if we put some things under the water we are able to walk on them, and it seems that you are walking on the water.

Here we leave you a video of a program called 'Dynamo the magician impossible' where we can see this example.

SECOND MEDIA DISTORTION EFFECT

-How does a woman dress?
-What type of clothes do women wear?
If we ask an Arab Emirates child about the type of clothes that women wear, they will probably say that they wear long dresses and veils to cover their hair; while if you ask a Polish child, they would say that women often wear skirts and dresses with high heels they may also say that women also wear jeans and colourful tops. Women in the Arab Emirates still wear these types of clothes which fully cover the body even in the summer with very high temperatures, while in Poland women will wear summer clothes such as shorts, short skirts and thin dresses.
How do we explain the effects of this resource in our classes?
The choice a woman makes with regard to the clothes she wears is made according to her culture, her religion and customs. This doesn't mean that she is better or worse than other women, simply that it indicates her cultural origins.

Thank you very much
